ARTIST NOTES: I drive past this farm regularly and was privileged to be able to go onto the property and take photos of the old buildings. Using pyrography(wood burning) as my under painting and encaustic paint(beeswax mixed with colour pigment) I am able to get the textures of stone and corrugated iron needed for this project.I call this medium pyrowax, as it is a unique method used by me. The wooden steps throw a very striking shadow on the side of the building which drew my attention to doing this particular painting.
