I was born in Scotland and before coming to Australia with my husband in 1979 we had spent two years in South Africa. I enjoyed art in school but never pursued my interest until my children were all grown up.
Although I have no formal qualifications in art, over the earlier years I attended workshops and demonstrations which I enjoyed and learnt a lot.
My husband and I travel extensively overseas, but my inspiration comes from travelling in our caravan all over Australia. My subject matter is varied but I especially love painting the vibrant colours of the outback.
I work in oils, acrylics, pastel and some watercolours, but enjoy oils the most.
Over the years I have been quite successful selling my work privately and in various exhibitions and have won two first prizes and several second prizes at the Royal Show. I have work in the Onkaparinga Council, government offices as well as interstate and overseas. |
